Toast to Tuesday: Working With the Temperature Drop

I have to say that this has been one of the most beautiful and pleasant Autumns I’ve ever experienced. The sun has been out, the leaves proved gorgeous, and the temperature has been unseasonably warm! This past weekend, however, has ushered in the tell-tale signs of  cooler times ahead. And I feel things have changed for the winter. At times people think that cooler weather is the time to pull out the chunky shapeless sweaters and sacrifice style for warmth. That is definitely not the case! You can have your sweaters, but chunky and shapeless they need not be.

Fall is a great time of year to layer up – layering can even be more prevalent come winter. You don’t need just one sweater to be your go-to clothing version of a heating blanket. What if your coat can barely get over your shoulders due to the extra bulk? What if the heating at the office wants to make you think you’re in Florida? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could add an extra layer for when you need to cozy up to the temperatures, and then take one off when you need a bit more breathing room? So wear a thin turtleneck and bring a vest, a blazer, a scarf, or maybe even a shawl. And of course, don’t forget your favorite mug to enjoy some hot tea while sending out your afternoon emails.
