Student Fashion: Fall Favorites

by Jessica Braun Gervais | September 4th, 2014

Finally! Fall is upon us! For us students, it means back to the classroom and goodbye to boat days and beach nights.  But it also means hello to fall fashion, which in my opinion is the second greatest season to dress for (the first is winter, but that’s for another time!).

The thing I get most excited for as the fall air begins to sweep in are sweaters and cardigans. They are great for feeling cozy while still looking chic and professional, like this Halogen Textured Jacquard Sweater from Nordstrom.  This sweater looks great paired with a colored skirt (as shown on model) or you can pull it over a crisp white button-up paired with neutral-colored slacks for a more polished look.

I also get fairly excited for the fall footwear, which of course means endless styles of boots!  The two most classic styles every girl should own is a good ankle boot that fits well with most trousers and pants; and a standard mid-calf boot that works with skirts and dresses.  I’m in love with the Tommy Hilfiger Rayelle Two Tone Bootie and the Steve Madden Kambyy Boot.  They are both comfortable and look nice with outfits in and out of the office.

As for fall accessories, there is no better way to complete an outfit than with a scarf! Try an infinite scarf such as this mustard yellow scarf from Modcloth or a more classic style like the Abstract Chevron Print Scarf from Charlotte Russe
