When interning in a big city, it is much more likely that you will be working around people who dress more “city-like” than they would in small towns or suburbs. This is not a bad thing whether you are in the burbs or in the city, but it is something to consider when getting dressed each morning.

What does this mean for you? Well, I think if you walk into an office in a small town where everyone is wearing a simple suit set and you’re wearing an outfit like the one above, you will feel a bit out of place. Same goes for the city; you don’t want to get lost in the crowd of professionals by wearing something bland. Rather, “dress the part”. Depending on the internship, the outfits may vary but the example above would be a great choice for an internship downtown! Plus it’s a great outfit to take from an internship into your full time job!

I love the patterned shirt with the gold necklace! Great Combo :)
