From the Classroom to the Cubicle: The LA Intern

If you have gained an internship in Los Angeles, the first thing I have to say is, I am SO jealous. There are many perks to having your internship be based in L.A., and the beach is only one of them.  The out-of-this-world networking capabilities, laid back style, and food are just a few more. But, of all the wonderful things about L.A., the style of dress is the best: Casual! In LA it always depends on the actual company you are interning for – but as a whole, the city is known to be very laid back and casual.

I am not saying that there may not be some internships in LA that require you to wear a suit but, as an intern in most cases the idea would be to mix a casual look with one dressy piece. For example in the set above, we have put together a very comfortable yet easy outfit for all of you, LA Interns. Try a cute skirt that is not very fancy but just basic enough to be paired with a Lauren Moshi tee and a boyfriend blazer over it. This will allow you to look professional in the office or out to lunch, but also take off your blazer while you are running errands, etc. Accessories in this case are what adds your personal style to the outfit. For me, a pair of cute ankle boots with buckles, some ray bans, and a very fierce bag would pull this outfit together to be just the right mix of casual, professional, and youthful! Are YOU an intern in LA? If so, please let us know what you wear to your internship!
