When dressing for your internship it is always important to plan for the unexpected. You never know if you are going to spend the day running errands all around the city or if you are going to face a mind-numbing migraine of too much computer time. This is definitely one of those times when it is better to be safe then sorry. As an intern it is absolutely vital that you keep in mind that you should never have to turn down an errand because your feet hurt from your shoes; trust me they will hurt a lot more when you’re walking home because you got fired.

Key things to keep in mind when planning for your day as an intern: flats, flats, flats. I can’t stress to you how important it is that you wear shoes that you can walk in. Unless you are superwoman or someone with un-humanly powers like Victoria Beckham, you will be thanking me later. Next, please wear a shirt and pants or a skirt that allow you to do two things: breathe and move. Wear items that provide you with comfort and stretch (therefore no low-rise pants or mini skirts that don’t allow you to crawl under conference room tables searching for outlets). Lastly, bring a bag that is large enough to carry your emergency supplies such as Tylenol, hair spray, phone charger etc. Take my advice and you will be way ahead of all the other interns!

wow i love that nail is striking!
