The Working Man: Thinking Inside the Subscription Box

Ah, the subscription box – with dozens of options that ship everything from beauty products to meal kits, it seems like there is a box out there for everyone. Our Editor-in-Chief here at TWW even offers a selection of handpicked items mailed to your door. The common misconception, however, is that subscription boxes are a ladies-only perk. This is certainly not true.

In the men’s category there are, of course, grooming boxes like Birchbox Man and Dollar Shave Club – the latter being something women can enjoy as well – but the most interesting options are fashion related. Here are just a few of the boxes available:

Trunk Club is a box that offers a curated group of men’s clothing, shoes and accessories. As a subscriber, you work with a stylist to stay within your budget and select items that fit your style and shape. Between six and eight items come in each box and you only pay for what you want to keep with prices starting at $40. This isn’t a monthly box, so you won’t have to worry about the bills racking up. This box is perfect for men who hate going out to shop and want to personalize and streamline the experience.

Hall & Madden is a subscription service for men’s dress shirts. You receive three new shirts per $150 box and can choose to have them sent every three, four or six months. They have three different styles to choose from – slim, athletic or classic – and will include some trendy patterns along with the traditional styles. This box is perfect for professional men who fear the day when the only shirt left has a mustard stain.

Curator and Mule is a quarterly box of men’s accessories. At only $60 per box, it is a great deal for men who aren’t looking for a whole new wardrobe. You can even choose to skip a box if the selection of four to five items isn’t as appealing. This box is perfect for men who are constantly losing their sunglasses, or using the same busted-up wallet for years.

Subscription boxes are a great way to quell the shopping urge, save time and money, and stay up-to-date on the latest fashion. Your co-workers will be jealous.
