Last night I stopped by one of my favorite Chicago boutiques, Lissa on Maxwell, to catch up with the lovely Lissa Shipley, boutique owner, and to peruse her just as lovely inventory! I of course left with a bag of merchandise that I can’t wait to start including in my work ensembles. The first piece is this draped cardigan by Australian designer Willow. I remember seeing this last season at the boutique and I regrettably talked myself out of purchasing it – luckily there were still a few left and one happened to be in my size. I didn’t make the same mistake again! For a casual Friday at the office, I can’t wait to wear this with skinny black pants, black patent pumps and a skinny belt wrapped around the inside of the draping of the cardigan.
I have a weakness for pretty much everything Jarbo. This clip wrap dress from the amazing label is so form-flattering and effortlessly chic that I think I started jumping up and down clapping when I tried it on. Plus this little black number is perfect to wear from the office into the evening with little addition/subtraction – you have to love the simplicity in transitions!
Also from Jarbo (yes I know, I’m so predictable), this white bolero I can perfectly envision with a green/blue cashmere wrap dress that would love a clothing partner such as this. And with nude fishnets and a pair of nude Mary Jane round-toed pumps would step this bolero from mannequin to full working business fashion! And for you other long-limbed ladies out there, the sleeves on this bolero (and for that matter, all of Jarbo’s long-sleeved tops) reach the perfect length on us with long arms – no awkward above-the-wrist-length for this number!
