Today’s Coveted Working Look: Working the Cape

Everyone has their look that they’re coveting each season. Whatever trend, style, or that splurge you’ve been planning for years – whenever you see it you immediately fantasize about it fitting within your very own closet on your own huggable hangers. Mine…is the cape jacket.

The cape above designed by Diane von Furstenberg and below by Rag & Bone both showcase an iconic look this fall that I find myself continuously gravitating towards. I mean, it’s so perfect! The cape jacket gives you the warmth you crave on those crisp cool days, but it also frees your arms for the necessary work and multi-tasking you perform between meetings, on your commute, and in indoor scenarios where you can double the coat as a blazer.

You’ve seen women wear jackets and blazers over their shoulders without inserting their arms into the sleeves. Well consider the cape jacket made for those women…and all of us others who find them just fabulous. What is your look that you are coveting this season?

I can't decide how I feel about this cape jacket thing. The first one by DVF is amazing! The second one looks really confusing for some reason.

@shoplet Thanks so much for the comment! The cape jacket look had to grow on me I admit, so I can see the hesitation. I love the second one as I know so many who wear blazers over their shoulders and it just looked bulky. I can see it with a long-sleeved top though vs bare arms for more texture and color (similar to the one by DVF). But agreed, the DVF look inspired me to write this in the first place!
