I am very guilty of not owning many casual items purely due to the fact that I’d rather spend money on items that I care more about. Why would I pay for a pair of shoes to go to the grocery store in if I can have a new pair of booties instead? How I survived this long without rain boots I still don’t know. Well, I am now looking to change this silly habit of mine! To start with, let’s look at these Kate Spade cropped pants. This is very much a casual look, but it is still very easily able to be dressed up. I think these pants are a perfect way to start incorporating some casual into my working wardrobe!
Now for the shoes. Footwear has always been my most difficult purchase when it comes to functional or casual footwear. I do know that my ballet flats are probably not the most appropriate item to wear when going to my Pilates class, or as I previously mentioned, to the grocery store. Yet I don’t really want to own shoes specifically for those tasks. So I think I settled on these Cole Haan Air wedge pumps. They’re nice enough to wear with a simple casual dress to work (still may be a bit too casual for me, but I am taking baby steps with this category), and I wouldn’t feel awkward slipping them on for a five-minute errand when donning my cargo pants.
