Plus Size Sales Slimming Down

Retail has taken a very hard hit this year, but when examining which segments of retail are getting hit the hardest, plus sizes seem to be taking rank. According to Freep.com, retailers such as Old Navy, Banana Republic and Ann Taylor, have taken their plus-size collections out of stores and are now selling them only online. H&M completely dropped out of the plus-size market. However, some retailers are taking advantage of the slimming down of the plus-size market and creating lines of their own. Lane Bryant is launching a couture-inspired line called the icon Collection by Lane Bryant this month, while Forever 21 has launched a plus-size line called Faith 21.
