Planning my travels for the holiday season has brought me back to the pre-economic turmoil of unlimited business travel. My company has promised that travel restrictions will be lifted come New Year’s, so I’m trying to gear up for frequent business flyer travel once again. I became an expert business traveler about two years ago when I would have to fly back and forth between cities an average of three days a week, sometimes to multiple locations within the same week and sometimes back and forth in one day. My carry-on suitcase was never completely unpacked and my quart-sized Ziplock bag was always ready to go. But have I missed something vital to the business traveler network during these months of frozen travel time? I did a bit of research and came across some items that I feel would benefit me in my future travels, and I wish I would have known about two years ago!
Rated “Best Overall” by The Wall Street Journal, this quilted toiletry kit is a perfect all-in-one carry-all to keep all of my toiletries (even the non-liquids) and small accessories all together. I can even put my hairbrush and jewelry in the fantastic compartments that would fit perfectly within the bottom of my carry-on! Sizes come in small and medium as well to ensure it will fit into whatever suitcase (or handbag) you have with you to take you through security with ease.
Speaking of the quart-sized Ziplock bag, the TSA carry-on regulations of liquid containers I don’t believe is going away any time soon. I never use quart-sized Ziplocks for anything save travel. This 3-1-1 Carry-On Toiletry Kit is the perfect item to replace buying so many Ziplock bags – plus it’s economical and green as I don’t have to keep throwing bags away!
Over the years I have successfully traveled to business meetings, networking events, trade shows and seminars only needing my carry-on suitcase and briefcase. The packing process proved quite interesting for the week-long conferences, especially in the winter. This packing compression set would have been perfect for compressing some of my bulkier items of clothing necessary to bring with me on a trip. I usually end up with a suitcase too full to include my workout clothes – with this I finally will be able to run off some work steam in the hotel gym!
No I don’t take this many pills a day, but let me tell you that when you travel for work, your chances of getting sick skyrocket higher than the average office worker. Therefore I never leave home without a vitamin bottle loaded with my vitamin supplements. With this handy pill organization case, I don’t have to dig through my “carry-all” extra vitamin bottle to find the right supplement and thereby give myself more time to drink another cup of coffee or send out another email!
Oh, Kindle where have you been all my life? Every business trip, my briefcase is stuffed with my laptop, wallet, Blackberry, travel information and plane tickets, and about three magazines and a novel. That makes for one heavy briefcase. Once the Kindle was released, my company froze business travel so I couldn’t justify purchasing this wonderful thin, lightweight and easy-to-carry reader. Now I think I know what I’m giving myself for Christmas this year!
