Ballet Flats To Go? For Sale at Your Local Ballet Flat Vending Machine!

I was wrapping up a lunch meeting last week and discovered something pretty fantastic en route. In the downstairs corridor, next to the digital photo booth, was a ballet flat vending machine! Sold to you by the company Solemates (couldn’t find the website anywhere), it appeared that after a long day (or night), you were given the choice to slip in cash or a credit card to wear ballet flats home and not have to suffer through your home-bound commute in your heels. For $8 and a choice of color? I don’t see why not! I have a few other ballet flats in my closet that I have conveniently on hand to throw in my bag when I know I may be needing them later. But when I forget them at home or when scheduling takes me other places…well it’s nice to know that there are those who think ahead for us when that occasion may arise!

Europe apparently thought of this one before us (I admit I’m not surprised) and came out with this concept through Rollasoles and Afterheels in London, and through Ballerina to Go in Germany. Apparently all of them come with a nice carry-all bag to put your heels in as well! I like companies that think ahead.
