Last night was probably one of the most fun nights I have had covering a fashion event. The reason? Probably because I was at the amazing Shrine Haberdashers boutique with one of my dear friends and podcast partners, Ryan M. Beshel of The Bowtie Memoirs.
Shrine was hosting a party to celebrate its recent earning of the Chicago Magazine title, “2011 Best Men’s Boutique”. With the merchandise and the decor, they definitely earned that name. And you could tell that everyone agreed by the crowd that gathered that evening.
I was also very fortunate to get a brief interview with Eric Wallace, Brand Manager at Shrine! Here he explains some back story to Shrine, and shows us some accessories perfect for a man’s working look.
Many fashion events feature champagne, wine, or vodka. Well this event featured whiskey! In fact, it was a very special whiskey. The Spicebox website states, “Honouring our spirited history of Prohibition, when it was said that Canada quenched the American thirst for whisky”. The bottles were even presented in spice boxes (wonder where the company name came from?), which were said to have carried many-a-bottle over during those times in history. Fashion. History. And whiskey. Could we ask for more?
And for the round-up, we have good friends, and good times. Thank you so much, Shrine, for a fabulous event!
