Last Wednesday kicked off a week chock full of events, seminars and hours upon hours of work – both in retail and in the office – leaving almost zero time for writing. Catch-up begins now. To jumpstart my crazy week, I helped Scoop NYC and Laura Ellner of On The Racks celebrate the launch of premium denim line Eugene Is My Middle Name‘s Fall 2012 Collection.

Laura Ellner was on hand to provide her tips for fall styling with Eugene Is My Middle Name’s striking assortment of styles. The collection was gorgeous; however, my only complaint was that it wasn’t prominently displayed. This, in turn, caused the collection to get easily lost in the hustle and bustle of people who were attending and enjoying the event. Honestly, in true Kate fashion, I got distracted by the very visible and larger fall collection by Current/Elliott in the back.

The highlight of the event was that hair experts from New York Blow Dry Bar were on hand to transform guests’ locks with their killer braiding skills. Deliciously refreshing cocktails were provided by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, while DJ K Styles kept the party going with killer tunes. I definitely didn’t pass up the opportunity to get my hair braided.
