When people remember my wardrobe, I want them to use just a handful of words: feminine, classic, and maybe just a teeny bit preppy. There are a few pieces that embody all of those words at once, and one of them is the classic beige trench coat. It’s timeless, simple, flattering, and simply gorgeous.
That being said, I’ve never found one that I wanted (except for those Burberry trench coats that I won’t be able to afford for, oh, another twenty years) – until now. I spotted a picture of Emma Watson strolling out of Heathrow looking impossibly chic in a black skirt, a white t-shirt, and a trench coat that completely steals the show: the Winser Short Trench.
Why can’t we all look this good getting off of an international flight? Seriously, it’s a miracle if I manage to not have bloodshot eyes and limp hair. That being said, I have a sneaky feeling that if I wore an outfit like this on the plane, I’d look good no matter what!
From Winser themselves:
There is a reason that the trench coat is a British classic – not just because of our weather – it’s practical and effortlessly elegant. This shortened version of our best-selling double-breasted fully lined style is available in beige and black and made from a shower proof techno fabric. Subtle blue stitching on the buttons add the Winser London touch. So chic and stylish, the celebs are already getting their orders in!
I’ll admit, I’ve already added my name to the wait list. I’ve never bought a classic tench before, but I think this paler color will flatter my skin tone (deeper beige tend to wash my fair complexion and blonde hair out), and the shorter length will be a bit more versatile on my shorter frame. Plus, the price is pleasantly attainable – sorry, Burberry!
