Wedding season is officially upon us. Whether you have friends and loved ones tying the knot in a gorgeous spring wedding or have a long list of summer weddings ahead of you, it’s time to dust off those flowy dresses and hunt down the perfect nude heels. And wouldn’t you know it – I bought a colorful, fairly loud dress for a coworker’s July wedding and realized I didn’t have one (yes, not one) pair of nude heels, sandals or otherwise, to go with it.
Of course, this called for several trips to Union Square and many nights spent online shopping. While I fell in love with Manolo Blahniks that were several digits out of my price range, I ended up falling for a pair of shoes that were also out of my price range. I just loved them that much.
And wouldn’t you know, they’re by the queen of heels and Sex in the City herself, Sarah Jessica Parker. As Nordstrom says:
Ladylike and polished, this Nordstrom-exclusive line from style icon Sarah Jessica Parker defines “covetworthy” with a wide variety of shoes, handmade in Italy, plus city-chic handbags and outerwear.
“Covetworthy” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Let me count the ways I love these heels…
Crafted from Italian leather and handmade in Italy, the SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker Anna Sandals are definitely the most expensive shoes I own, and quite possibly the prettiest. The nude is perfect for me, with just a hint of pink to keep from going sallow, and a think black line of leather along the sole is sleek and chic. Once I made the (horrible) mistake of putting these shoes on, I couldn’t take them off – and every single woman who saw me in them stopped me, asked me what they were, and that I should buy them immediately. It was meant to be. I swallowed hard, handed over my Nordstrom card, and the rest is history.
Once I got home, the Annas were paired with every single item possible in my closet: bright dresses, sleek sheaths, flirty maxis and business trousers. No matter what I paired these heels with, they looked incredible. I was instantly sold. I don’t normally spend this much money on shoes, nor do I plan to in the future, but these heels hold a special place in my heart – and they’ll be accompanying me to many, many weddings!
