Today’s Coveted Working Look: Jules Dress

by Anne Dreshfield | January 8th, 2013

While I’m holed in up in eastern Washington, away from the biting wind, snow, and ice, my thoughts wander to warmer months and climates. I’m here in Washington spending the holidays with my parents, and in just a few days we’ll be jetting off to Hawaii for a family vacation. Thankfully, my wishful browsing of brightly colored skirts, dresses, and tops isn’t wasted! As the spring collections roll out, I’m soaking in the bright colors and getting ready for warmer weather and sunshine.

J.Crew’s Jules Dress in scroll print has caught my eye and held it since J.Crew sent out their email about the new arrival. From the punchy yellow to the intricate design and refreshing silhouette, the Jules Dress has had me wishing for warmer weather for the past week.

Here’s what J.Crew has to say about this lovely dress: With an easy, looks-good-on-everyone shift silhouette in silk crepe de chine, the Jules dress features a print we engineered from a scarf our designer found at a Palm Beach consignment shop.

Even if it won’t be spring where you live for several months, the Jules Dress could bring sunshine and a bit of warmth into your life before the weather heats up. Wear her with black tights and booties to ground her in a darker palette that would work for winter and early spring. When the sun finally comes out, pair her with some dainty pumps, as above, or metallic sandals to pick up on the accents in the print. You’ll be reaching for Jules into next fall!
