I didn’t ask for much on Valentine’s Day — since I’m lactose intolerant, all I asked for was a gorgeous ankle boot in suede or leather that would look a lot like the coveted Acne Pistol Boot for a much kinder price. Plus, I’m single, so I didn’t have anyone to ask but myself for that gift, and to make myself smile on a day fraught with couples and chocolate, I ordered myself the Enzo Angiolini Elysian Boots.
There are a whole number of reasons why ankle boots like Enzo’s Elysian boots are versatile, both for work and play. First and perhaps the most important, the heel is only 3 inches, which is just enough height to get the leg-lengthening look without sacrificing comfort. The wide, sturdy heel ensures you’ll be steady on your feet all day, in all weather conditions. And the suede is just luxe enough to be worn with a variety of outfits, from bootcut or ankle jeans to tights and dresses, or underneath a sharp pair of trousers.
Unfortunately, my very skinny size 7 feet didn’t feet into the 7s of these gorgeous boots — the shoe runs big, so if you’re looking to buy these, I would advise going down a half or full size, depending on your feet. My best friend ended up buying these off of me, and she has a normal width size 8 foot. Talk about running big! Still, she fell in love with the boots the minute she pulled them out of their box, just like I did! In fact, she was complaining that she wished she’d had these comfortable, stylish boots for the graduate school interviews she’d had the previous weekend. I’m debating ordering another pair in a size; that’s how lovely these are in person.
Do you own a pair of boots like the Enzo Angiolini Elysian Boots or the coveted Acne Pistol Boots? What do you pair them with?
