Today’s Coveted Working Look: Cole Haan Amalia Skimmers

by Anne Dreshfield | May 19th, 2014

I’m sure you’ve heard it recently – flats are returning! Rejoice, aching feet and sore toes! Celebrate, because we are no longer succumbing to miserable commutes all in the name of high heels!

I’m pretty sure that most women don’t wear heels all day long, unless they 1) actually work in fashion; and/or 2) are superhuman. I personally love the look of heels but can’t wear anything more than three inches for the entire day, and those are usually ankle booties with thicker heels. I save my higher heels for special occasions…like weddings, or black tie affairs. Other than that, I’m a firm flat lover, even though I’m only 5’4″. Between commuting to my office, running around the office itself (which is huge and has tile floors), and having a standing desk, flats are simply more practical for me to wear day in and day out.

But that doesn’t mean they have to be boring. Far from it!

The Cole Haan Amalia Skimmer flat is everything but a boring flat – I’d go as far to say that these beauties are works of art. The D’Orsay style is incredibly popular right now, and for good reason: the cut-out flatters the most delicate part of the foot, the arch, and the pointed too elongates the leg. I love the contrast of this particular color combination; the snakeskin is luxurious and chic without being overwhelming.

These flats also come in other color combinations, including an all-black with snakeskin toe and a beautiful contrasting black and nude combination.
