Today’s Coveted Working Look: Anthropologie Serena Sweater Dress

by Anne Dreshfield | January 6th, 2014

As the temperatures drop and we move into the new year, I often reach for sweaters to stay warm and dressy for the office (and the commute!). But let’s be honest: sweaters and pants can get a bit boring by February! That’s why I love sweater dresses – they’re still just as beautiful and warm, but offer up a bit of pizzazz. In the warmer months, you can toss it on and wear with bare legs and flats, but for now you can slip into thick tights and boots to be warm and fashionable at the office.

My favorite sweater dress I’ve seen is Anthropologie‘s Serena Sweater Dress, which offers a bit of a twist on the trend!

Where shall I start? The print on this dress is to die for – from far away, it looks like a peplum top with a pencil skirt. Up close, though, you see this dress truly shine! I love the slimming red panels at the shoulders, and the black stripe’s faux-belt effect is absolutely flattering. Toss this dress on with your favorite black heels for a night out on the town, or cozy up with black tights and heeled boots. You can’t go wrong either way!

Born out of a great love of knitwear and inspired by the social birds that live on several continents, Sparrow is dedicated to making women feel at home, wherever they are. For a seamless desk-to-dinner look, pair this cozy peplum dress with suede heels and a structured leather tote.

The bonus? This dress is on sale right now for only $120 – a New Year’s treat, so you can kick this year off with style!
