Do you have certain blazers that you can’t wear unless it’s warm enough for that blazer to double as a coat? Otherwise trying to wear that blazer and a coat makes you feel like your arms lost their blood circulation? I definitely have taken said blazers with me to the office so I could wear my thicker coat and not sacrifice discomfort on my commute nor fashion at the office. But I’m already carrying my pumps and my laptop. Another item and I’ll have flashbacks of Christmas shopping during rush hour. Enter…the thin blazer also sometimes called the shawl blazer.
The black and white blazers above by BB Dakota are perfect for layering under a coat while adding a good solid-colored neutral cover-up that’s just a bit more than a cardigan but not as heavy as a suit jacket. When the weather gets warmer, these will then be perfect for throwing on during a breezy summer evening.
I personally adore the printed blazer above by Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent. I would wear this cover-up with black pants and a scoop-neck top and let the blazer stand out for itself (I’d probably add a pair of colorful booties to pump up the color a bit too). You can also wear this with a belted A-line summer dress. I know I veer towards the all-black attire, but there’s nothing wrong with embracing color, especially in sunshine!
