It’s nearly impossible to have missed the big news: H&M’s little sister store, & Other Stories is now available in the US.
Until recently the site was only available in Europe, which is really of no use to fashionistas in other parts of the world in like say, oh, the U.. Currently, in addition to the already pre-existing stores, & Other Stories is now available online and at their new New York City location. However, my fingers are crossed that they’ll soon expand and build stores in more cities!
Not quite as expensive as COS, another member of the H&M family, & Other Stories caters to those looking for a more upscale form of fast fashion and are willing to pay a little bit more than they would at an average H&M store. There’s no doubting that & Other Stories is certainly trend driven. Their color palette, silhouettes and prints are very, very, “now,” to say the least. However, & Other Stories manages to interpret trends and turn them into pieces that have the potential to have some longevity.
This women’s wear brand is definitely geared toward the Millennial recent college grad looking to start establishing a more polished wardrobe. However, there’s no reason that women of all ages can’t enjoy and interpret the pieces into their own work style.
Playing off their name, the brand strives to create “stories” by keeping their selection concise and cohesive. A lot of the items they have for sale right now follow similar styles, silhouettes and color palettes, which look nice when paired together. This is obviously a very good thing because it makes it easier to find items that can be styled together. However, it also makes it impossible to visit & Other Stories and not buy more than a few things at a time.
Below are a few of my favorite pieces currently available on the & Other Stories website.
If anything, these pieces obviously prove the mission of & Other Stories, and make me even more excited for the pieces they’ll create for future seasons.
