Don’t you just love when you stumble on a pleasant surprise in a story?
I headed to Old Navy today to return a few items I’d bought online and didn’t fit, and decided to take a spin around the store. I love a variety of Old Navy’s pieces, particularly their activewear, accessories, and smaller items – boring things like socks. So imagine my surprise when I found an adorable little fit-and-flare dress that fit perfectly!
This dress caught my eye mainly because it was on a mannequin, way up high, almost touching the ceiling. Is it just me, or is Old Navy the only store that literally lines their ceilings with mannequins? Anyway, it worked – this dress was styled with a cute scarf and a pair of booties, and I walked halfway across the store to get to it. Once I was closer to it, I realized the dress is actually a thick cotton, and is a lovely, textured jacquard that makes it more than just a solid dress. Score!
Old Navy’s Jacquard 3/4-Sleeved Dress is the perfect dress for fall and winter. It’s a fairly heavy dress, and the sleeves add a bit of warmth. The a-line skirt is flattering and would work with a variety of shoes, from pumps, as styled above, to tights and boots as the temperature drops.
I snatched up the black, but that was only because the garnet color, pictured above, was out of stock in my size! It also comes in a lovely royal blue, which I had to talk myself out of buying, as well. Eyes on the prize, ladies, eyes on the prize! The best part was that this dress was on sale from its already low price – can’t beat that!
Have you ever stumbled upon an amazing find when you’re shopping for something else entirely? I’m glad I did today!
