I tend to not wear a lot of prints or crazy colors. Nothing against them, they’re just really not my style. However, oddly enough, paisley has always been my favorite print. I know what you’re thinking… “Didn’t you just say that you don’t like prints or crazy colors?! If one print were to go against all of that wouldn’t it be paisley?” Yes, you’re absolutely right, readers. Paisley isn’t a subtle print by any means, but, the heart wants what the heart wants, and I can’t deny any longer that I want paisley.
Despite my strange obsession with paisley, I do understand that it’s a tricky print and doesn’t necessarily look great on everything. Color and style are important design elements to remember when creating a paisley garment, or when shopping for one. Luckily, there’s been a lot of great paisley prints this season, like the Michael by Michael Kors Paisley-Print Lace-Up Dress.
As a part of his boho-chic collection, this Michael by Michael Kors Paisley-Print Lace-Up Dress is easy going and reminiscent of vintage frocks. The dress has oversized petal sleeves and a split-collar. Its hem hits right above the knee, making it appropriate for the office.
The emerald green colors are striking, especially when paired with pieces in traditional Autumn colors like red, orange, yellow and brown. The dress can be styled many ways. However, I think it would look best with a pair of knee-high boots (somewhat similar to the ones in the picture) and a thick pair of tights. A boho style belt can be a great way to add a bit of fun to the look and to help cinch in the waist, and a cozy knit cardigan is a perfect addition for chilly days. This type of dress is a great addition to any wardrobe, and I can’t wait to hopefully add it to mine soon.
