It’s a rare occasion when I try on something in the store and immediately purchase it in every single color available. It’s even rarer when I buzz into the store on my way home from work, intending to merely window shop and relax, and walk away with a top in every single color! But that’s what happened last week when I wandered into Ann Taylor LOFT in San Francisco, where their Mixed Media Ruffle Blouse was calling my name.
Where to start? This top is perfectly light and airy for spring, while still holding enough shape for the office. In fact, I wore this to the office on Friday with layered necklaces and pointy-toed flats, and I felt like a million bucks. The fabric is soft and comfortable, the fit is flattering, and the neckline adds just enough interest.
I tried this top on in black first, and loved it so much I immediately left the dressing room and found the white top to try on. The white is definitely more sheer than the black (I needed a camisole under the white while the black can go without), but they’re both lovely tops. The white feels a bit more casual since it’s sheer, but both tops can be dressed up or down. I paired the white version of the Mixed Media Ruffle Blouse top with dark jeans and chic flats for the office, though as you can tell from the above photo, the top works just as well with dressier pants.
