I have a bone to pick with our regular contributor, Anne Dreshfield. She published a post in March of last year featuring an accessory obsession that she had: Le Mer Collections wrap watches. Well Anne, your obsession is now my obsession…and my mother’s.
After editing and publishing the review, I promptly signed up for the Le Mer Collections newsletter and purchased two watches. During that time, my mother read the blog post and she called me promptly. “Rachel, those watches are gorgeous!” I know, Mom. I know.
Then…an ideeli sale occurred a mere month later. A sale featuring the Le Mer Collection watches! I texted the link to Mom. Five minutes later, the phone rang. “Okay, I’m going to buy one for everyone for Christmas. Which ones are you buying so I don’t get the same ones?” The shopping spree had begun. However – quite covertly I’m proud to say – when reviewing our favorites, Mom mentioned one that she loved but was a bit too expensive. Guess what my mother got for her birthday last year. Yep, you guessed correctly. My mom’s amazing – she deserved it.
I purchased a rose gold wrap watch for myself and received a bright tangerine one from Mom for my birthday. I wore both of them religiously through the summer. And my sister and sister-in-law loved theirs this past Christmas. If I planned ahead, I would have worn mine to have taken a group photo.
I received an email about their new collection, and here I am again, biting my nails on which ones to get…or not to. Dear Anne, you are to blame for this accessory obsession. At least we’re in it together. You, me and my mom.
At least we’ll never lose track of time. (Confession: One of my watch batteries died and I wore it for at least a month before finally getting the battery replaced. Luckily no one noticed the watch wasn’t working…or they were polite and didn’t mention it.)
