Today’s Coveted Working Look: Express High Rise Ankle Pant

by Jordan Zeman | July 9th, 2014

I might be in the minority for someone about to hit a quarter-life-crisis, but I am a big believer in high-rise pants. No, not the diaper-shaped, light rinse jeans everyone’s mom seems to own. I’m talking about sleek, black work pants. For me, a low-rise pant at work is not only uncomfortable, but is also a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. They don’t keep shirts neatly tucked, and slide down when I am running around.

If you aren’t yet on the high-rise bandwagon, let me convince you to get on board. The Express ultimate double weave high rise ankle pant will change how you feel about this cut. In conjunction with the higher waistline, the slim fit and ankle length will elongate your legs. These pants also have a feature that is hard to come by in women’s clothing – pockets! No more rummaging to find a lip balm, a bus pass or some coffee money.

This cut is also extremely versatile. As the Express website points out, these pants can work for both the office and a night out. The lack of decoration and the slim silhouette make them easy to pair with many different tops and shoes. For a summer workday, I would wear them with a brightly colored blouse tucked in and some nude flats. For a summer night out, I would go for a cropped top and black heels. Either way, I promise if you try these pants from Express you will believe in the high rise.
