There are times when I want to shop for items other than clothing when it comes to the workplace. In fact, shopping for office decor can be just as much fun for me as shopping for the outfits sometimes. And in my opinion, people should shop more for their work environment.
If I walk into another office with the digital picture frame, framed certificates and diplomas and dusty piles of books and magazines, I may just walk right back out. We spend the majority of our time in the office – don’t we want it to look more welcoming? Or fashionable?
This vintage brass “home corsage” (currently on sale for $384 – and you save 15% when you sign up for their email newsletter) is not just a paperweight, but it’s a true accessory. And for those who work in open offices where framed pictures and bookshelves aren’t available, this little number can be your calling card.
“Where does so and so sit?”
“See that desk with that gold flower paperweight? That’s her.”
Easily identifiable and quite fashionable. You don’t have to start with a paperweight. I tacked vintage postcards on the wall of one of my old desks, and my current one houses a stuffed owl that a friend gave me. Maybe not fashionable, but it’s darn cute. Show your personality a bit! Plus, it gives you something to look at and smile when you’re answering emails.
