Today’s Coveted Working Look: Caslon Embroidered Dress

by Anne Dreshfield | May 22nd, 2014

There are few things in life that are as easy as a chic, simple dress with a bit of embroidery. Why? Well, a dress is easy to pop on (who has time to pair separates? Come on now.) – all you need are a pair of killer heels, boots or flats, and a bit of jewelry. Toss your work bag on over your shoulder and you’re good to. Embroidery adds interest to the dress, no matter the fabric, while also making the eye travel. And if the embroidery is intricate enough, you may be able to get away with no jewelry at all!

While flipping through Nordstrom’s most recent catalog I came across an embroidered dress that caught my eye: the Caslon Embroidered Dress in black.

This dress may just become your favorite casual Friday uniform. Feminine and flowing? Check. Waist-cinching sash? Check. Embroidery that flatters rather than distracts? Check, check, and check!

I would pair this dress with tights and boots for a monochromatic look in the fall, then lighten things up in spring with platform sandals (as pictured) for summertime or chic flats for the office.

It’s all in the details!

A slubbed-cotton dress exudes peasant charm with embroidered stripes streaming down the front and over the three-quarter sleeves. Slender ties detail the smocked and split neckline, while a removable sash wraps the waist.

The Caslon Embroidered Dress has certainly caught my eye. Do you own an embroidered dress, or are you eye-ing this piece for summer?
