Business Casual Superstar: Shift Dress Roundup for Under $50
By Huma Rashid
I’m a big fan of wearing pretty dresses to work. I’m an even bigger fan of wearing pretty dresses to work without breaking the bank. A simple dress is a great way to make a statement, and it’s not difficult at all to find styles that are entirely work appropriate. It’s a little more challenging to find them for under $50, but that’s where I come in to lend some assistance.
I’ve put together a little collection of pretty dresses for a great price, and they are all generally work appropriate. Some might require that you throw on a cardigan, but that depends more on the culture of your particular workplace. Some office dress codes allow sleeveless or short-sleeved dresses; others don’t. Use your judgment as you peruse this offering. As always, click on the image to get to the purchase page.
As you can probably tell, I tossed in a shift dress or two, just for fun. Hopefully, you’ve been able to find something in this mixed bag that you liked. The reason I focused on shift/sheath dresses today is because they’re so incredibly simple. And even better, they make a statement – especially the printed ones I leaned toward today. But the shift dress doesn’t require a lot of fuss to get right. You can even toss one on and just go, without worrying about it. And that definitely comes in handy on a morning when you’re running late and just trying to make it out of the house in one remotely presentable piece.
