Yes girls, it’s true, you can wear shorts in the fall. In fact, you can wear them all through the winter too. The trick is to not only wear them with the right outfit but to pair them with tights. However be warned, this look is not accepted in many offices. Check with your dress code policy before proceeding on your commute!
I love pairing tweed or wool shorts with fun prints like fishnet or floral, or with contrasting colors. You can wear black leather shorts, tights and booties for a girls night out, or pair them with a blouse, vest and Mary-Janes to make the right impression at work. Either way, it’s a creative and classy way to show a little leg at the office without worrying about the colder weather.
I love these emerald H&M Woven Shorts ($32). They’re slim fit, with side pockets and black pleated trim. Because these particular shorts have texture I would stay away from print and wear them with sheer or matte black tights. I paired them with this cream button up H&M blouse ($24). This shirt is sophisticated without being too expensive and can easily be tucked into the shorts. To polish it off I added this New Look Dark Purple Crepe Open Front Blazer ($40). It’s tailored and sharp, and is sure to accompany you on many winter occasions. Thrown on your favorite pair of black pumps and you’ve got another budget-friendly and classy outfit for the office this fall, and all for under $100.
