Today’s Coveted Working Look: Blouses, Blouses, Blouses

by Rachel Yeomans | January 14th, 2014

Why yes I want the perfect button-down to go with my skirt / pants / suit / insert complementary clothing item here. I don’t know about you, but I have two blouses that I go to almost every time I need a fantastic button-down. I have plenty of others, but I know those two are long enough to be tucked in (and stay tucked in), they’re comfortable and I don’t have to deal with buttons gaping.

I came across these gorgeous items in the business wear section in Modewalk, one of my guilty pleasure online shopping centers. And would you know that most of the items are not only stunning…but on sale by around 80%?!  I know, I know. Let’s close our mouths now.

The first blouse is the Ruffle Print Blouse. It’s 100% silk, made in India and is utterly stunning. If pairing it with the blue is too much, try it with a simple black pencil skirt or black ankle-length trouser pant. Oh yes, and it’s on sale from $590 to $118.

Then we have the Georgette Blouse by Bouchra Jarrar. Also silk (yes, I prefer silk blouses…they just fit better) and with the bonus of a detachable scarf on the neckline. This dynamic duo of a top was priced at $1,470 and is now on sale for $294. Good things come to those who wait, eh?

And finally, my personal favorite, the Gaspard Yurkievich Black Japanese Crepe Top. I love how they styled it to be layered under a dress in this image. You can also wear it with trousers or skinny jeans and heels for Casual Friday. The architecture of the blouse is so beautiful that you would barely need any accessories! This lovely item, alas, is not on sale. But if it must be yours, it sells for $595. Start saving those pennies!

So with these options, you may have just one more go-to blouse to choose from when picking your workday outfits in the morning. Which would you choose? Share in the comments!
