What’s your favorite eyeshadow palette for the office? If you’re anything like me, you probably reach for a trusty neutral palette and create a bit of drama with eyeliner or a pop of color on the lips. My longtime favorite is Chanel’s palette in Raffinement, a stunning, slightly warm-toned eyeshadow palette that I can use to make an office-appropriate, neutral smoky eye, and quickly switch up to an amped-up smoky eye for the evening. In fact, it might just be the one palette I’ve hit pan on in quite a while. But a new palette’s caught my eye…and it’s Dior.
I may not be cheating on Chanel yet, but I’m tempted. Dior’s 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Grege has my fingers itching for a few brushes to make a smoky eye for fall. While Raffinement’s colors lean golden, Grege’s lean cooler, which is flattering on my skin tone and also perfect for the changing weather.
Dior’s 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Grege offers up a warm-toned tan shimmer (top left), a cream shimmer (top right), a pale taupe sheen (center), a plum brown sheen (bottom left), and a gunmetal grey shimmer (bottom right). Famed for their buttery feel, easy blending, and subtle sparkle, Dior’s eyeshadows are certainly a luxurious addition to your getting-ready-for-work routine.
The instructions that came with all of Dior’s 5 Couleurs palettes instruct that any three shades that are touching can be used together to create different looks. So, you could pair the top left, center, and bottom left shades for a neutral brown smoky eye, or do the opposite side of the palette for a cooler grey-toned smoky eye. Feeling playful? Skip diagonally down the palette for variations on each.
Oh, I’m tempted. I’ll admit it, Dior’s 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Grege – I don’t own any Dior eyeshadows, but that might be changing in my near future!
