As a curvier woman, I tend to shy away from pieces like anoraks – they tend to make me look boxier than is flattering on me, and I much prefer pieces that show my shape while still keeping me warm.
Anthropologie, as always, makes me re-think these kinds of things.
While it was raining yesterday here in San Francisco, I was flipping through Anthropologie’s March catalog, which had me pining for warmer, drier weather and a tropical vacation. It also had me wishing for a good reason to wear bright, loud prints and colors that are deliciously vibrant, even in this dreary weather!
I’m not even sure where to start with this anorak – first of all, I want to buy this entire outfit, so congratulations to Anthropologie’s styling for emptying my wallet in no time flat. I adore the bright colors of the top underneath, and the anorak pops against the white jeans (and that lovely background). Pair with a beautiful necklace and dangling earrings, and I’m sold.
The best part? The belt is a sweet touch that ensures your figure isn’t lost. I also like the length, which hits just at the hipbone, emphasizing your waist with the belt tied. I love this coat for a casual Friday outfit.
Do you own an anorak? What do you think of Anthropologie’s feminine twist on this cold-weather classic?
