Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. New York. Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi Showed Off Their Fall 2010 Preen Collection With Cuts and Cut-Outs
I sort of felt like I was playing a game of peek-a-boo while watching the Preen runway show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. However, among the gashes and sheer overlays, designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi really brought forth some strong working looks with their fall/winter collection. One of my favorite creations within their line was the mix between the boyfriend blazer and wrap dress – shown on the runway with a flowy dress underneath, I was quite impressed with the fashion statement the piece made – plus I started envisioning what I’d personally combine it with for a fashion-forward office look. I also have shown here one of their dresses, which is probably one of the most beautiful dresses I have seen thus far that would be ideal for a work cocktail party or evening event. It made me think that if Working Girl was filmed in the Millennium, Melanie Griffiths would don that dress when meeting Harrison Ford to talk business and tequila. As she said: “Simple. Elegant. Makes a statement.” Not just with that party dress, I’d say that rings true for the entire collection. A job well done indeed!
