Last Thursday I received an email with an event announcement. And boy was I excited to be working downtown that day! Eugenia Kim – one of my favorite milliners – was going to be on-site at the Manhattan Henri Bendel store to design custom hats for customers! She also had plenty of other hats available for purchase from her current and past collections.
I arrived (in my lowly T.J. Maxx chauffeur cap) around 7:30pm after my work day to see what hat may be in store for me! After trying on several hats to find the one with a great shape, I settled on the one below. I have several button-front shirt dresses that I love wearing to work in the summer, and this hat will look just gorgeous with them! Yes, I’m planning my future outfits around this Eugenia Kim hat. Wouldn’t you?
Each hat was plain straw and then I was able to add feathers, ribbons and other embellishments.
I loved working with Eugenia Kim because she had great ideas with the feathers and ribbon and how they would work on the hat. Together we came up with several options and then we both agreed that the design below was the most fashionable and fit my tastes perfectly. Dear readers, meet my new hat!
Eugenia’s window shop at Henri Bendel concluded yesterday. But don’t worry – you can still snag hats from the Eugenia Kim website to make your work commute that much more fashionable! Seriously, how gorgeous would any of these be with a trench coat and your statement briefcase?
I admit, my chauffeur cat – while still cute in its own right – just got ousted by the Henri Bendel hat box. My apologies dear cap. But I feel I must move on to my promotion of ribbons and feathers.
