Fashion Focus Chicago. Abigail Glaum-Lathbury Showcases Her Working Collection Ideal for Any Working Wardrobe

by Rachel Yeomans | October 25th, 2009

When it comes to fashion shows, I usually prefer the single-designer and smaller venue. Immediately following the Macy’s runway show to kick off Fashion Focus Chicago, many of us immediately taxied it over to Chicago’s uber-fashionable West Loop, where Abigail Glaum-Lathbury presented her upcoming collection to fans scattered throughout an open warehouse space underneath the warm glow of Chinese lanterns. It was comfortable, it was intimate, and it gave everyone the opportunity to see the detailing of Glaum-Lathbury’s collection up close and personal. My first purchase from Glaum-Lathbury was about four years ago when she met me for coffee to deliver a flip-collar snap-button jacket that I coveted at a shopping event, but she did not have it in my size. So we agreed to meet for coffee, a chat, and to deliver my new business acquisition that to this day turns heads at the office. Her latest collection offers the same head-turning quality that her jacket from years ago still delivers, and I can’t wait to work them into my working wardrobe.
