Elie Saab Showcased the Woman Wearing the Dress, Not the Other Way Around. Paris Fashion Week Review

Never underestimate the power of the dress. And that’s simply it: the dress. No crazy patterns, no plunging necklines, no mini mayhem. It is fantastic to walk into the office with a statement fashion piece or accessory on a given day, but there’s nothing like walking into the office with that simple look that causes people to mutter, “Wow, she wore that dress!”. Elie Saab’s spring 2010 collection showcased during Paris Fashion Week was a show-stopping affair. Saab created powerful, blocked colored shifts that fit every model perfectly without being overbearing nor distracting – even the finale of the shimmering multi-colored shift maintained an air of professionalism. One didn’t see the clothing strutting down that runway, one saw the woman. If I’m leaving an impression at the office, that’s the one I want to make.
